Just a quick recap as to where we are. I am attempting a comparative review, in some detail, of the groups trading respectively under the names “Fairport Convention” and “Fleetwood Mac” during the 1970s. The groups have in common their frequent and rapid personnel changes, in particular in that decade. The Fairport bit will be very much longer than the Fleetwood bit.
We are currently in the Fairport bit, and have reached the dismal time of summer 1972, when the band seemed to be no more. However, there were glimmers of hope, one of which was “Fotheringay” by Fotheringay.
