Just a quick reminder of where we are just now. I am trying a comparison of the relative fortunes of Fairport Convention and Fleetwood Mac in the 1970s, starting with Fairport Convention, a section which will be very long indeed, God Willing.
We have reached the dismal time of the summer of 1972, when there really was no such thing as Fairport Convention, and the glimpses of hope lay in 5 albums, a consideration of 3 of which has now been completed.
The 4th in this series is Richard Thompson’s remarkable debut solo LP “Henry the Human Fly”, of which more next time.
All this stuff will be seasoned with an occasional picture of something I have previously only described in words.
