Just a little reminder today of where we are. I am in the course of a long project concerning the relative fortunes of Fairport Convention and Fleetwood Mac in the 1970s. The first bit, on Fairport Convention, will be about 97% of the whole.
We have reached the dark days of the summer of 1972, when Fairport Convention had apparently ceased to exist. I was in the middle of a two year A Level course at school, sixteen and a half years old, and experiencing serious girl trouble.
There were glimmers of hope, however, in the form of 5 LPs, 4 of which we have now considered, in chronolgical order.
Next time we start on the latest of the 5, “Sandy”.
