Some explanation is appropriate as to how the band came to be in Australia. They must have been the first group ever to be photographed outside the Sydney Opera House.
Commercial acumen had never been a strong point with any of the line ups, and the group as it was in January 1974 set off on an ambitious world tour. Sandy Denny tagged along as the wife of Trevor Lucas.
Sandy gradually rejoined the band, guesting on a few numbers in Japan, which was the first stop, but fully rehearsed by the time they got to Australia, where on 26 January they became the first non-classical performers to apear at the newly opened Sydney Opera House. Most of the live album was taped there, the rest coming from gigs st the Rainbow and the Fairfield Halls.
