Well, just a few moments today to catch our breath. 1975 actually turned out to be a very good year for me, but more of that next time.
What we are in the middle of in this blog is a long project comparing the fortunes of Fairport Convention and Fleetwood Mac in the 1970s. The Fairport Convention bit will occupy about 98% of the content, and so far we have just got to the end of 1974.
There will be occasional diversions and digressions, the diversions being triggered by the main theme [like “”Rock On”; see above], and the digressions tending to be photos of album covers previously only described in words, and stuff like that.
There are now more than 1,000 posts on this blog, which started in 2008. It is becoming a sort of reference tool for this bit of arcane musical history, but there is much still to go at. For example, so far there is hardly anything about Pink Floyd or The Incredible String Band. As far as I can see, there is an almost infinite amount of material to talk about, so I do not think it will end before I die or become mentally incapable.
