One fact which seems most coincidental to me is the curious connection between Fairport Convention and Fleetwood Mac as at the end of 1970. Both groups soldiered on that year, and each of them produced just one LP, but in each case that LP was most praiseworthy; but the similarity between the album names was truly remarkable. Each comprised two words in the form “**** House”, Fairport’s being “Full House”, and Fleetwood’s being “Kiln House”.
More importantly, at the end of 1970, one key member quit each group. Richard Thompson left Fairport, and Jeremy Spencer suddenly vanished from Fleetwood to join a religious sect called the Children of God.
Much more detail of all this can be found far above.
Anyway, we have seen what happened to Fairport Convention as the decade rolled on; it is now time to look at the convoluted tale of Fleetwood Mac while all that was going on.
