The first thing to note about this record is that the music on it is all very laid back and subdued. This is Fleetwood Mac on Prozac.
Track 1, “Woman Of 1000 Years” (8.20 minutes) is no exception, and could indeed be the best example of it. This is a laid back epic, with Christine McVie on lead vocal. Frankly, it is just a monotonous dirge, enlivened only by a short burst of a truly sparkling Danny Kirwan guitar solo.
Track 2 “Morning Rain” (6.22 minutes), is much more upbeat, quite a pleasant little rocker, but nothing special. There are some very nice Danny Kirwan/Bob Welch guitar bits, and some better harmonies on the vocals.
