As far as I can tell, this is by the same line-up as for “Future Games”, but this is a much better record, which as I mentioned above, I only have on CD.
Track 1 is “Child Of Mine” (5.09 minutes), which is a nice little rocker, with some pleasant variations. The vocals are very laid back, and seem to be mainly a Danny Kirwan solo, but whatever, they are certainly extremely effective. This is a good opener, and promises a less sleepy record than “Future Games”.
Track 2 is “The Ghost” (3.58 minutes). It opens with a meandering, low register bossa nova thing, which leads to a louder middle 8 refrain. Here, the vocals are an octave higher, and much brighter, a theme which continues to the end. This appears to ne a Bob Welch piece, and is certainly credited to him as sole composer.
Track 3 is “Homeward Bound” (3.20 minutes), not to be confused with the Simon & Garfunkel song of the same name, from which it is entirely different. The intro threatens another bossa nova piece, but in fact quickly turns into one of those splendid harbingers of things to come, with Christine McVie on lead vocals, and much to the fore. This is a strong and insistent ditty, which Christine McVie delivers faultlessly.
