Track 6 on the CD, which I think would have opened Side 2 of the LP, is “Keep on Going” (4.04 minutes). This is a Bob Welch song with a dramatic feel to it. It has an insistent beat, and Christine McVie does the vocals throughout. Bob Weston once again adds interest to the track with some splendid lead guitar. This is not a bad song at all, but it is still nothing to write home about.
The album livens up considerably however, with Track 7 “The City” (3.35 minutes). This is a Bob Welch song which has some blues drenched lead guitar from Bob Weston in the intro. This is quite an exciting little rocker, which Bob Welch sings, and again we have some very tasteful lead guitar from Bob Weston which keeps the thing going well. This is the best track so far on the record.
Track 8 is “Miles Away” (3.47 minutes). This is in much the same vein as Track 7, but it is rock based rather than blues based. Again, there is much use of Bob Weston’s lead guitar. The song is every bit as good as Track 7, but in a different way.
Things were looking up for this album.
