Track 9 on the CD is “Not That Funny” (3.19 minutes). This is a Lindsey Buckingham song, and is, and has always been, my favourite song on the whole album. It is curiously jolly, with an absolutely great tune between the verses and as the middle 8. It is a real stomper, and lifts the spirits wonderfully.
Track 10 closed Side 2 of the vinyl version, and is “Sisters Of The Moon” (4.36 minutes). This is a Stevie Nicks song, with a long intro which establishes a firm beat. She sings this one, which is in a very dramatic minor key, making the piece extremely effective. It closes thus:
“So we make our choices
When there is no choice
And we listen to their voices
Ignoring our own voice”.
Side 3 of the LPs opened with what is Track 11 on the CD, “Angel” (4.53 minutes). This is a Stevie Nicks composition, and a very good pop song. She sings, with Christine McVie joining in the refrains. Some words from it:
“So I close my eyes softly
Til I become part of the wind
That we all long for sometime
And to those that I love
Like a ghost through a fog
Like a charmed hour
And a haunted song
And the angel of my dreams”.
