Today we come to the last of the “identification” posts to do, and we have just two chaps left to unmask. [As ever, “left” and “right” are as you see it.] The first of these is in the middle of the row which is second from the back. His whole face can be seen to the right of Jim Capaldi, the only one with sunglasses. This man, with the shock of curly hair, is Mike Harrison. The second and final person to name is only just visible at the top left of the picture, behind and slightly to the left of Steve Winwood’s woolly hat. His eyes are half closed and he seems to have a moustache. This is Gary Wright. These two chaps comprise two fifths of Spooky Tooth. The three others, none of whom were at the shoot, were Greg Ridley, Mike Kellie and Luther Grosvenor. Those three, together with Mike Harrison, were the four members of the group called “Art”. Mike Harrison therefore wears two hats in the picture, being not only one of the only two members of Spooky Tooth there, but also the sole representative of Art.
The next post will finish up the story of this legendary photograph.
