Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
I never conceived an intention to do this, unlike the situations with “Nice Enough To Eat” and “Picnic”; rather, I just found myself doing it. More of the origins of this in due course.
To my surprise, in 1996, browsing the CDs in a record shop, I found this CD. I had certainly never bought the LP, or made any attempt so to do. I had not liked the sampled track on the sampler, but in completist mode by then I did not hesitate to purchase the CD. As I feared, the whole album is like the sampled track, so I do not like any of the record at all.
All the tracks are instrumental, with Mick Weaver’s Hammond Organ to the fore, and that is a style of music that leaves me stone cold at best, and very irritated at worst.
More next time.
