Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
Continuing remarks feature this time the notes by Fred “Kermit” Dellar in November 1995 in the CD insert. We continue now with his reasons for saying that this album is remarkable.
” “Green Door”, one of the two tracks that Jimmy Miller produced earlier, is the cert hit single that never was, the inclusion of Bobby Timmons’ “This Here”, with Mick offering come-on-and-get-to-church piano, illustrates how the band could stretch out on a soul-jazz standard, “Hymn To Freedom” illustrates the Frog’s more reflective side of things, “Jumping Jack Flash” proving a crunching instrumental version of the Stones’ classic. Incidentally, the greasy, health-hazard fry-up that decorates this album was devised by Chris Blackwell himself.”
All this inspires me the listen to the whole thing again, which I shall do right now.
