Buyng the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
Back now again to the notes written by Fred “Kermit” Dellar in November 1995 in the CD insert:
“Around this period, Wynder K. could be found working for a while in Jimmy Cliff’s backing band. But, in 1969, when Steve Winwood quit Traffic to join Eric Clapton, Rick Grech and Ginger Baker in Blind Faith, the remaining members, Capaldi, Mason and Wood linked with the keyboardist to become Wooden Frog. The association was hardly born to last. After two months of rehearsal, the band split and Wynder K. reverted to being Mick Weaver, on-call session player, ready to give his all on ’70s recording dates by such luminaries as Keef Hartley, Miller Anderson, Joe Cocker, Frankie Miller, Andy Fairweather-Low and Ian Matthews.
Steve Winwood is the one in the wooly hat, to the left of which is Ian Matthews.
Jim Capaldi is the one wearing sunglasses, and Chris Wood is identified as the only one with a white shirt and tie. Dave Mason was, of course, conspicuous by his absence from this photo shoot.
More from the notes in the next post or two, which should see the end of them.
