Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join in”.
Today we see a picture from the CD insert which includes a photo of the “A” side of the single “Meet On The Ledge”.
I had a school chum who had a cool hip elder brother, and who was accordingly a source of much information. He told me that the single had a “B” side which was not available on any other record, this being in 1970, some two years after its release. I therefore made it my business to acquire a copy as soon as I could find one, and he was quite right, although the track has subsequently appeared on several records. This is “Throwaway Street Puzzle”, but note that on the single the “u” is inverted in the title:
It is, incidentally, a splendid song in a unique rock’n’roll/12 bar blues mode, but utterly unlike anything else one could ever hear.
