Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
More today from Chris Welch’s 2005 notes in the CD insert.
“The band promoted the album with a series of radio broadcasts, several for BBC Radio 1’s DJ the late John Peel. They also appeared on BBC 2’s “Colour Me Pop”. “John Peel played the album which did very well and went “gold”. We were on the road a lot doing the university circuit. In fact we were touring for two solid years. I don’t think we had more than a week off. We never stopped travelling. I used to do all the driving and one year clocked up 45.000 miles.” As well as visiting Europe, they did four American tours supporting The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and The Eagles.
“Spooky Tooth’s next album “Spooky Two” released in March 1969 and Mike understands that it went “Platinum”. [sic] It was followed by “Ceremony” (1970) and “The Last Puff” (1970). Between recording sessions, the band toured consistently and built up a considerable following.”
