Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
We are in the final straits now of Chris Welch’s 2005 notes in the CD insert, just one more to go after this one.
“Says Mike: “Witness” was the last album I did with Spooky Tooth, before I left in 1973. The rest of the band carried on and they went to America with vocalist Mike Patto where they did an album called “The Mirror”. That was the end of the band in 1974″. [sic] Mike also made a third solo album “Rainbow Rider” in Nashville in 1974. Manager Nigel Thomas released it on the Good Ear label but it was later sold on to Chris Blackwell who put it out on Island.
“After Spooky Tooth’s demise, Mick Jones went on to form successful rock band Foreigner. Mike Harrison lived in Canada for a while before returning home to Carlisle. The years passed, and then in 1999 Mike Harrison, Luther Grosvenor, Greg Ridley and Mike Kellie [the full cast of the band Art – see above] reunited and produced a new Spooky Tooth album called “Cross Purpose”. Sadly, Greg Ridley passed away, on [sic] November 2003 at his home in Spain. Meanwhile, Mike Harrison had met The Hamburg Blues Band and began recording and performing with them in Germany. In 2004 Gary Wright , Mike Kellie and Mike Harrison revived Spooky Tooth again with Michael “Bexi” Becker on bass and Joey Albrecht on guitar for two shows in Germany, which were filmed and recorded for a CD/DVD.”
Last instalment next time.
