Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
Today we again continue with the notes written by Patrick Cambell-Lyons, from where we left off last time:
“Muff Winwood had said to me that Blackwell had signed Nirvana because Procol Harum turned him down. Well that may be so, but I never felt that we were a substitute signing. I knew that Chris was risking everything on his own intuition, but that made it all the more exciting to be involved. Island Records was the label every group wanted to be on, and to this day people still ask me what it was like to be in at the beginning of such an exciting creative era. My answer is always the same – listen to the music. When Chris signed us to Island Records and Blue Mountain Music I had achieved the first part of my recording plan. The second part, to be signed by Elektra Records for America, I am still working on.
