Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
Whereas the notes for the Original CD were extracts from a book, here they are dedicated, unique CD insert notes, and they kick off like this:
“Of those who rose from a certain summer, the sweet sound of Nirvana was something very special. Although line-ups would come and go, its musical nucleus was a duo, Alex Spyropoulos and Patrick Campbell-Lyons, who’s brilliant vision gave Nirvana its shape. Honed on the same baroque splendour as “A Whiter Shade Of Pale” they shaped a pop less burdened by obtuse imagery and who’s light, almost ghostly voices were offset by imaginative scores, sweeping orchestration and layers of crafted arrangements. Their debut album “The Story Of Simon Simopath” [which I have but only on remastered CD:]
was equally dosed with science fantasy and hallucinogenic imagery.”
