Today we continue with “Melanie Blue”‘s notes in the CD insert:
“Chris Thomas had replaced Mickey Holmes before the German debacle and teamed up with Patrick to start writing songs. They recorded their efforts on a domestic Revox tape machine and sold some of them to Edward Kassner Publishing, whose offices were in London’s Tin Pan Alley, Denmark Street. Just along the street was a small cafe, La Gioconda, where Patrick and Chris would hang out, soaking up the ambience, in the company of musicians, hookers on a break and students from the nearby St Martin’s School of Art, based across the street in Charing Cross Road.”
