Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
Today we conclude our look at the quotes behind the CD in the CD case with the very last one, which was written by none other than the late David Bowie, in July 1967:
“These three thistle and haggis-voiced bairns had the audacity to face a mob of self-opinionated hippies with a brand of unique pop music which because of its intolerance of mediocrity floated as would a Hogarth cartoon in Beano”.
The Beano was a children’s comic which notably featured Dennis the Menace.
Next time, onto this band’s truly remarkable music. Or maybe a distraction or two first, inspired by the Beano and the time of year.
