Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
Track 2 is “Cold Sweat”. This is a frantic Hammond organ rocker, just like Track 2 on the first side of the first album [see above]. The middle 8 comprises a short classical interlude, before the frantic stuff resumes.
Track 3 is “Lighthouse”, and features the sensible refrain “Don’t put me on a lighthouse”. It is quite different from Track 2, being a slower, dreamy thing, with harmonised vocals in some parts. It has a good beat, and is a strong ditty throughout. Splendid stuff.
Track 4 (15 on the CD) is a song called “Long Time”. This has a busy piano intro, with some lilting close harmony vocals, but when the drums and bass move in with a vengeance, the whole thing becomes slightly jazzy.
Track 5 is “Mind of a Child”. It is a very cleverly modulated, beaty, catchy pop song.
More next time.
