Buying the LPs sampled on Nice Enough to Eat.
The expanded CD is indeed comprehensive. It includes a faithful reproduction of the right half of the inside cover of the UK gatefold sleeve, showing the photos of the group as young boys, even though this largely duplicates Mick Abrahams’ notes on the tracks (albeit in smaller print).
There are also: a flyer for Fillmore East shows 10-12 August 1970, where the Pig support the “Small Faces with Rod Stewart”; a picture of the cover of the “Walk on the Water” single; a lovely colour photo of the band from the cover of the second UK LP, “Getting to This”; the black and white pig’s head drawing from the Canadian inside cover; a picture of the green Chrysalis label on the “Same Old Story” single, and a picture of its picture cover (my copy of the single only had a plain green paper cover); and copious new 2006 notes from Mick Abrahams, to which I shall return in the next but one post.
In the very next post I hope to mention the 4 tracks on the CD not already mentioned.
