So, as the years ticked on, bit by bit I acquired the LPs sampled, some new, some second hand. By 1975 I had them all, except “Kip of the Serenes”, which appears to have been deleted not very long after its release. I therefore placed an ad in the “Wanted” section of Melody Maker, the free block intro section of which read “VGC KIP £5”. £5 was a lot of money for a second hand LP in 1975.
To my intense surprise and pleasure, I got one reply, and it was positive. A chap called Adrian in London would do this deal, and so I completed the set. Adrian was a dealer, and this transaction marked the beginning of a fairly long chain of similar transactions.
