Buying the albums sampled on “You Can All Join In”.
We finish this time with Ian Anderson’s notes in the insert with the Collectors Edition of the CD:
“During the months following the recording and release of This Was, our little Blues [sic] band featured on a number of BBC radio sessions, some on the John peel show, some for other broadcasters and the results – amazingly enough – were retained by the BBC in whatever cavernous vaults and audio dungeons line the bowels of Broadcasting House in Portland Place, then and now the home of the “Beeb”.
“These sessions were, as far as I can remember, completely live recordings and stand the test of time surprisingly well. Sonically, they are pretty damn fine and Peter Mew, long-serving mastering engineer at EMI’s Abbey Road Studios, has done a first-rate job of restoring this vintage material.
“Perhaps, to Mick, John and John we should dedicate this re-mastered edition of This Was complete with the additional tracks recorded during the brief life of this line-up of Jethro Tull.
“And, of course, our thanks go to managers Terry Ellis and Chris Wright for taking the chance on a bunch of ne’er-do-wells…”

Next time we start on the liner notes from the other three members of this band.
